FAQ of platform waterjet machine & waterjet spare parts etc.:
Plasma cutting VS waterjet cutting?
1. Cutting process:
The water jet cutting machine uses the intensifier to pressurize the water stream with a pressure of 60,000 psi or even 90,000 psi to cut objects without any thermal deformation.
Plasma cutting involves generating an electric arc between the cutting tool and workpiece quality inspection. After the arc heats the material to the melting point, it is a way to achieve cutting by using high-speed ionized gas, that is, plasma, to leave the molten metal.
2. Cutting speed:
The cutting speed of the water jet cutting machine is slower than that of the plasma machine, especially some relatively thick materials have no advantage in cutting speed, but the range of materials that the water jet machine can cut is wider, and the thickness that can be cut ranges from 2-3mm Materials up to about 300mm can be cut.
3. Cutting width:
The cutting edge of the water jet machine is narrow, about 0.1-1.5mm; the width of the plasma cutting edge is wider, usually about 1.5-6mm, which will cause waste of cutting materials.
4. Cutting precision:
Waterjet machines are capable of cutting complex graphics with greater precision than plasma cutting machines.
To sum up, customers can choose suitable cutting equipment according to their specific cutting needs.
