Knowledge of waterjet cutting machine and Waterjet Cutting Head Part:

Q1: There are several kinds of water jet booster pumps on the market, what are their differences?
A1: There are two main types of water jet pumps on the market, namely linear pumps and rotary direct drive pumps. The main differences between them are as follows:

• A linear pump is a pump that uses the pressure of hydraulic oil to boost water, using an elegant method called the “boost principle” to amplify or increase the pressure by varying the piston area. The advantage of the linear pump is that it can provide stable and continuous high-pressure water, which is suitable for high-speed cutting and precision cutting; the disadvantage is that it requires more maintenance and replacement parts, and it is noisy.

• Rotary direct drive pump is a pump that uses a motor to rotate a crank to drive three pistons to pressurize water. It does not need hydraulic oil, but directly converts electrical energy into water jet energy. The advantages of the rotary direct drive pump are simple structure, less maintenance, low cost, and low noise; the disadvantage is that it cannot provide high pressure and flow, and is suitable for low-speed cutting and rough cutting.

Therefore, when choosing a water jet booster pump, you need to consider your cutting needs and conditions, as well as your requirements for cutting speed, precision, quality, cost, noise, etc.
