What is the difference between the high pressure seals on the kmt iv, v and vi?
KMT Water jet Systems’ Generation IV, V and VI high pressure seals are one of the core components of their waterjet cutters. The differences are mainly in material, construction and performance.
Generation IV High Pressure Seal: The Generation IV High Pressure Seal is the earliest high pressure seal used by KMT Water jet Systems. It is made of polyurethane, has a simpler construction, and can reach a maximum pressure of 60,000 psi (413 MPa) with a shorter service life.
Generation V High Pressure Seal: The Generation V High Pressure Seal utilizes a more advanced material, Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), with a more complex structure, a maximum pressure of 90,000psi (620MPa), and a longer service life than the Generation IV High Pressure Seal.
Sixth Generation High Pressure Seal: The Sixth Generation High Pressure Seal utilizes a more advanced material, Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK), with a more complex structure, maximum pressure up to 90,000psi (620MPa), longer service life than the Fifth Generation High Pressure Seal, as well as higher heat resistance and chemical resistance.
In summary, KMT Water jet Systems’ fourth, fifth and sixth generation high-pressure seals differ in material, structure and performance. With the continuous upgrading of technology, the new generation of high-pressure seals have higher performance and longer service life, and can be better adapted to the needs of high-pressure waterjet cutting machines.
